FIRST, while I am actively practicing law for the clients in my law practice, none of what I say or provide on my website or in this guide is legal advice to you and nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship. You have to be on my caseload in order to get my legal advice. I do not wish that for you because that would mean you are charged with a crime.

What I give you here is GENERAL information that will hopefully keep you from needing a criminal defense lawyer in the first place!

SECOND, the law is vast and complicated. There are technicalities that I will not go into on my website or in this guide because, again, I am not advising you as a client with a pending case.

The information I am providing you on this site is a basic statement of when you may be in danger of violating a law so that you can better tell when you are approaching a risky situation.

I will not discuss some specifics of law or defenses the way that I would if you were charged and sitting in my office. This site speaks of GENERALIZATIONS that aim at helping you AVOID crime versus providing you with the technical defenses that might be available in your specific situation if you have been charged with a crime.

THIRD, I am licensed to practice in that state of California and the federal court located in the Eastern District of California. While the information in my guide and blog is general and typically will provide a good guide regardless of the jurisdiction you are in, please know that if you are in a state outside of California, you need to consult with an attorney in your state for both generalizations and specifics on that state’s laws.

My hope is that, as you follow my site and materials, that you will develop an intuition about situations that could lead to arrest so that you can sidestep them and keep on your path to success.
